Update

Hello all, below is an update on things I've been working on.

I met with LT Matt Wholley of the Coast Guard and reviewed the project and our interest for the participation of the Coast Guard. Matt is planning to work with one of his staff members to develop conceptual drawings. Once they have concepts ready Matt will contact me so we can get together and move forward on the project. I inquired if there may be any funding from the Coast Guard, he was unsure if that would be available but would look into any possibilities.

Last Friday I met with Eric Larson and reviewed area three. Eric is on-board and is working on conceptual illustrations. I reviewed the issue of sensitivity to representing Native art amongst the local Native population and Eric conveyed he is quite experienced in this area. Over the years Eric has made strong connections with local elders and will follow through on this point

Regarding finding additional funding, in-kind donations to satisfy the Federal funding requirements, I contacted Kiana K., a local woman who works for Cruise West. She is going to Seattle for a Cruise West management meeting the second week of April and is willing to present the concepts we have developed in hopes for financial partnership from Cruise West.
