Port Dock Project Update

Hello all, I talked with Chris Cotta today and here is a brief update on the status of the funding for the project.
• He is working to determine if we can use sole-source (work performed by the artists) or have to go to bid to complete the project. He prefers sole-source, as would we I'm sure.
• The state grant language was amended to include aesthetic improvements
• He is not sure if we want to use federal money, or allocate the entire $35,000 from the state grant. If we go this way we will have to obtain city council approval to use the state grant to entirely fund the project. As I understood, it may be to our benefit to use the state grant as it defaults to the local municipality's jurisdiction on grant usage regulations. The city of Petersburg allows for sole-sourcing.
• The federal grant expiration date has been extended one year
• Chris is sorting out funding so that when we start up again, it will be from a solidly sourced perspective and we can assuredly move ahead.
• Chris also mentioned phase 2 of the city's portion of the project as going ahead in Spring or Fall 2011. This includes repaving and sidewalks. It may benefit us to wait on area three and four until the city is completed with their phase 2.
• Chris will let me know when he has finalized the funding and has a completed plan for the city's phase 2. At that time we can reconvene and get going again.
